Network Marketing Success Secrets

On the 2nd of each month my calendar reminds me to read a powerful resource called The Home Business Survival Guide.  Each month I take about 10 minutes and read through these reminders of what it takes to build a successful home based business in the network marketing arena.  It’s a free resource that provides seven truths of what it takes to succeed in network marketing and reading it each month keeps me focused on the core principles.

As I read through it this morning, the first required skill hit me like a pile of bricks.  “1.  A No Matter Freakin’ What Attitude.”

Determination!!

It can’t really be considered a “secret” can it??

But quite possibly it is the “secret sauce” when you look at top earners from any network marketing company.  Every top earner or any person who is even running through the ranks of their company has a determination that causes them to be relentless in their pursuit of winning.

Their fears do not matter.

Their lack of time does not matter.

Their excuses do not matter.

What their friends think does not matter.

Their “life that always get in the way” doesn’t matter.

No matter what, they are gong to get it done….and that boils down to their determination.

The more network marketing success stories you hear, the more you’ll see a common thread of having this “no matter freakin’ what attitude” that Tanya mentions in The Home Business Survival Guide.

How To Build Your Determination

Where does determination come from?  It’s good to know that determination is the “secret sauce” but if you don’t have that sauce, how do you go about creating a self determination that is powerful enough to take you to the top rank of your network marketing company?

  1. To build determination you must have a clear vision of what it is you want to achieve.

The reason I chose the graphic above for this blog post is because it reminded me of when I was a child.  Each summer I would spend much of my time at the community pool wishing I could be like the older guys who could do all these cool tricks off of the high and low diving boards.  One day I decided i was going to learn how to do a one and a half flip off of the diving board…or a flip and a dive.   I could easily do a flip, but I wanted to be able to do a full flip and end in the water with a perfect dive.

It took a crazy amount of determination!!  I kept doing belly flops or bursting my face on the water.

Time after time after time I kept trying to do this flip, but kept messing up.

10, 20, 30 times…. I was making a fool out of myself.  It felt like friends were laughing at me because I kept totally messing it up…. but I didn’t care, I was determined.

Eventually I got it…. and it was a glorious moment!

The feeling of achievement, the confidence, just knowing I had not given up…..I knew if I could do this, I could do a double :))

2.  Once your vision is in place, focus on it.

You’ve heard the saying “What you focus on expands” When your vision is crystal clear and you know exactly what you want, make sure you are constantly reminded of what it is you want to achieve.

Maybe it’s a vision board, or little yellow sticky notes?  Maybe it’s a vision book that travels with you?

Early in my career in Corporate America there was a year where I wanted to create commissions of $42,000.  EVERYWHERE in my house there were the numbers 42k.  I had sticky notes on the computer, on the mirrors, in the fridge and even notes in my wallet.  At church I would find note cards with 42k written in my Bible.   I became obsessed with reaching that goal….. and I hit it!  Everywhere I looked I was reminded of what I wanted to accomplish.

3. Decide.

It simply comes down to one decision.  Will you go for it or will you not.  Is it worth the sacrifice, or is it not?

I used to ask myself the question of whether or not I had it in me….. that was a silly question, we all have it in us.  The real question is whether or not you decide to give it your all and be determined to win.

4.  Don’t over-complicate it.

In making this list it just feels like there should be more than 3 points.  …but I believe by adding more, it simply complicates the real process.  Determination is something you can build, create and develop inside of yourself.

Do you want a “No Matter Freakin’ What” determination to build your home based business?  If so, it’s at your disposal and you can decide to make it happen.  You’ve got this and you have it in you to create.

Hey Bonnie, awesome blog. Whenever I see a post about your “attitude” I always drop in and read. While back (2002) when I got going working online and top guy in xyz company spoke about attitude for about 2 hours on stage. It really had an impact on me that’s stayed with me for years. Not sure if you know this but if you take each letter from the word “attitude” and match it with it’s number in the alphabet it adds up to 100 🙂
